We want to formally congratulate James Castellano for setting another VW record by going 8.92 at 172 MPH! The record was set this past weekend in the World Cup Final at MIR (Maryland International Raceway). This car also runs quite the slew of Integrated Engineering engine parts. Check out the time slips and photos of the setup below!
For those of that aren't familiar with Caste Systems MK3 2.5L 07K setup we have put together some more details below:
The MK3 Golf weighs in at 2402 LBS with the driver.
Custom side winder manifold with 6766 ball bearing turbo.
The bottom end consists of 144x22mm Integrated Engineering Tuscan rods and custom IE SPEC JE Pistons.
The Cylinder head consists of IE springs and retainers, prototype 2.5L camshafts, and Ferrea valves. James is currently revving this setup to 8700 RPM but is having issues with retaining the accessory belt at higher RPM levels. In the coming months Caste Systems Performance will be helping us test our manual serpentine belt tensioner.
