The IE air intake system for your Audi S6 or S7 4.0T engine is the result of extensive engineering methods to validate a truly unique performance design. 3D scanning, radpid protoying, rigerous back-to-back flow bench validation, dyno testing, and track proven to produce real power, torque, and sound to elevate your driving experience.

FLOW BENCH RESULTS

Flow rate testing is performed to validate the design against the restrictive stock airbox. Using our in-house Superflow bench, the maximum possible flow rate in CFM (cubic feet per minute) is measured in gains over stock at a variety of test pressures (in/H20). A higher flow reading means the intake system can support increased demands from ECU tunes and turbocharger upgrades.

Repeated flow bench results show the massive improvements from our intake system.

DYNO RESULTS

In addition to flow bench testing, real world power numbers are achieved using our in-house dyno cells to see the effect the improved flow rate has on horsepower and torque. The testing was performed in controlled conditions on an IE Stage 1 tuned car performed the same day back to back on multiple octanes.

Dyno results show consistent and significant power gains above 5000RPM where the stock airbox reaches the limits of possible flow to support the power.

POWER SUMMARY

The above gains are a result of various design details:

  1. The large internal volume, massive air filter, and multiple air sources allow for an unrestricted supply of airflow.

  2. The internal velocity stack provides a low-turbulence transition from the filter to the inlet pipes.

  3. The carbon fiber airbox both channels ambient temperature air quickly to the turbochargers and protects the airflow from engine bay heat.

The airbox assembly comprises our carbon filter housing, 5.5" high-flow filter, aluminum bottom plate, carbon velocity stack/inlet pipe, stainless hardware, and mounting provisions for a complete bolt-in solution.

The unique architecture and contours allow for a larger internal volume and smoothed airflow while simultaneously shielding it from radiant engine bay heat.

HIGH-FLOW VELOCITY STACK

In order to gain the highest flow possible, the velocity stack transitions airflow from the large surface area of the air filter and smooths its travel to the inlet pipes. This clean reduction accelerates the airflow into very high inertia which eliminates power-robbing drag and turbulence.

The factory-equipped 4.0TT intake is a compromise designed to restrict sound for regulated production requirements. Upgrading to IE's performance intake system will unleash a symphony of eight-cylinder engine and turbo sound that will make the throttle more addictive than ever.

MULTIPLE PRESSURE ZONES

The front inlet connects to the grill and receives a constant supply of ram air. Additionally, the aluminum bottom plate allows for an endless supply of low-pressure air pulled from beneath the intake. These two avenues ensure the air filter has a complete and unrestricted supply of low-temperature airflow for any power goal.

PRECISION FIT

To ensure a perfect fit, 3D scanning tools are used to create a digital duplicate of the vehicle's engine bay, grille, bumper, and hood. This provides an incredibly high-resolution environment to reverse engineer and prototype the intake design. This not only allows engineers to take advantage of all available space but also results in a perfect and extremely high-end install.

EASY INSTALLATION

Install your new intake system without any modification or hassles. The process is simple and can be done quickly with basic tools. The airbox utilizes factory-style mounts that ensure a perfect fit and allows for natural engine movement which keeps intake components from getting damaged.

Beautiful part

Easiest install. Best fitment of any part I’ve ever tried to install. No hiccups or gotchas.

Wish I could hear more induction, but only so much can be done on a big sedan like the S6.
