The IE 2.5L Power Kit combines the industry-leading IE performance intake manifold and the IE ECU software tune, this combination maximizes the performance of the factory 5 cylinder engine's potential without adding boost or engine internals. IE Stage 2 software fine-tunes the ECU calibration to match the manifold flow characteristics delivering a higher revving power band and power gains over 40HP & 12TQ (ft-lbs) over stock. 

EASY AT-HOME TUNE INSTALL

Required to flash your new tune, IE's DIY Flash Tool allows you to quickly upload your tune from your own garage or driveway. This OBD plug-in device is easy to use with a Windows-powered laptop and WiFi connection. Your new tool also includes the abilities to switch between multiple octane files (available separately), reading and clearing diagnostic codes, upgrading Stages, or flashing back to stock.

IE COLD AIR INTAKE KIT

Included in Ultimate Power Kits, the IE 2.5L cold air intake kit is designed to make the installation of your new Integrated Engineering 2.5L 5 cylinder intake manifold simple with our direct-fit intake kit. This kit will connect your throttle body to your mass airflow sensor, and place the air filter right behind the driver's side headlight in a partitioned area that only sees fresh airflow. Our specially-made high flow intake pipe features provisions for the valve cover breather, block breather, and SAI pump, so nothing is left unplumbed. The larger IE intake manifold moves the location of the throttle body, factory or other manufacturer cold air intakes will not fit directly and will require modifications to fit. Take this into mind when purchasing a 2.5L Basic Power Kit.

FITMENT RESTRICTIONS

POWER STEERING
This manifold will fit all VW 2.5L engines with the electric power steering system. Some later style engines use a hydraulic power steering pump, which sits right below the factory intake manifold. If your car is equipped with a hydraulic power steering pump, this manifold will not fit.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TUNE REQUIRED
Automatic vehicles require a matching IE TCU Transmission tune to allow high revving of the automatic transmission. The stock automatic tune has internal transmission rev limit controllers that shift before the manifold and software can make the extra power gained through the upgrade. IE's Auto Transmission Tune removes this limiter allowing full advantage of the manifold & tune.

IE PERFORMANCE INTAKE MANIFOLD

The IE performance manifold has been designed from the bottom up to bring your 2.5L engine to life! IE's performance engineered manifold is the only motorsport designed intake manifold available with precisely tuned runner lengths and diameters. This creates a resonance effect which rams more air into the cylinders. The plenum and runner designs have been carefully optimized with computer software for maximum flow, allowing your engine to breathe easier and perform at its best.

IE STAGE 2 MANIFOLD SOFTWARE

The IE Stage 2 performance flash for VW 2.5L engines is designed specifically to re-calibrate the naturally aspirated 2.5L engine for use with the IE intake manifold. That is to not only provide more horsepower and torque, but make the driving experience more enjoyable by removing rev hang, increasing throttle response, and increasing the rev limiter. With such a significant power increase, it makes the vehicle much more enjoyable to drive, with plenty of power available until red line.

NO MODIFICATION FITMENT

The Integrated Engineering 2.5L ultimate power kit has been carefully designed to fit MK5 07K engines while retaining all of your factory components. Through extensive research and development, this intake manifold fits with no modifications to the engine bay, vacuum system, emissions systems, fuel system, or coolant system. With the plenum being larger than factory, the throttle body placement is moved a small amount, which is easily plumbed to your mass air flow sensor using the included 2.5L manifold air intake kit.

INCREASED PLENUM VOLUME

This plenum on this manifold has been generously sized and shaped to distribute airflow as evenly as possible to all 5 cylinders. The increased internal volume is a massive improvement over the factory piece and ensures a steady supply of air for the engine.

FLOW TUNED RUNNER DESIGN

By using a cast aluminum construction manifold, our engineers are able to properly size and shape the manifold runners and velocity stacks for optimal performance. This runner flow and resonance tuning is a huge contributor to the overall performance of the intake manifold and is not possible to achieve on hand-welded manifolds generally available for this platform. Featuring aggressively sized runners that have been optimally tuned for large power increases throughout the mid-high RPM band. Our engineers employ CFD software to research and develop an optimized runner and bellmouth design, after many revisions to the design they have achieved the best runner shape, size, and velocity stack for the 2.5L application.

INSTALLATION

Installation requires removal of the factory intake manifold, fuel injectors, fuel rail, PCV system components, factory intake, and other factory parts. The included manifold fittings and cold air intake are designed for MK5 platform 2.5L engines. The kit will also fit many MK6 Golf 2010-14, MK6 Jetta 2010-14, and Jetta Sportwagon 2011-14 with some custom modifications and possible fitting alterations.

Easy and sounds amazing

Installed on my 07 Rabbit/Polo, took me about 6 hours in total with medium amount of mechanical experience. Only thing I had to modify was trim the silicon intake boot a half an inch to fit between airbox and throttle body, and extend MAF wiring very easy job with great insteuctions.

The sound alone is incredible. If you like intake noise then man is this for you, when under load the 5 cylinder sounds just amazing with this kit and tune.

Power kit review

This power kit is really good bought it for a 08 Jetta and can really feel the difference on the high rpm’s.

I just have a question where can I buy the intake manifold gaskets if ever needed to replace or does the oem fit ?

Great upgrade! 2010 Jetta differences

Extremely happy with the kit. Makes the engine sound great when you open up the throttle but stays nice and quite when holding speed on the interstate or just cruising around in stealth mode. Installing the manifold and CAI only took about 2 hours and flashing the tune was easy. I had to contact customer support because my powerLINK didn't have the credits loaded but they resolved that quickly.

If you have a 2010 Jetta in the US, you may have to stray from the instruction manual a little.

-Step 17 there's no vacuum line on the right side of the manifold, you will still need the cap for the fitting you install in step 22. Alternatively, you can purchase an additional 1/8" brass countersunk plug

-Step 28 - Mine had no secondary air pump so I had to add a small breather filter to the larger inlet hose, I used a Spectre breather filter Part Number 42859 that I got for $24 at AutoZone

-Step 30-35 SKIP: There's no MAF, it only uses the MAP sensor attached near the throttle body

-Before you install the IE manifold, you'll have to bend the little eye bracket that's between the alternator and cylinder 1

Bonus tips:

- get a telescoping mirror and place it between runner 4 & 5 to be able to see the bolt under runner 3

- I used a Milwaukee Shockwave Hex 1/4 in. X 12 in. L Screwdriver Bit Holder with a 6mm hex shank bit on a ratcheting screwdriver to remove the stock manifold bolt that has to be removed through the hole in the center. I initially managed to wedge the ball end socket…

People with addiction issues beware, this will consume you. Hit the throttle and the most glorious sound washes over you. Sounds like a much bigger motor. 2nd and 3rd gear cost me money. I had an unwilling original manifold bracket ***** cause me a lot of grief during the removal. Depending on what year and model you have could result in some relatively minor modifications being required to the cold air intake.
