The iE Stage 1 ECU tune is a simple flash-only upgrade that overhauls the factory engine computer and delivers instant power. Enjoy a broader powerband, a thrilling 7000RPM rev limit, enthusiast drive mapping, snappy thorttle response, removed speed limiters, and increased boost pressures for faster 0-60 times and stronger acceleration. Stage 1 can be installed on a stock vehicle and adapts to intake and intercooler upgrades. Includes 91, 93, 104, and E85 octane options.

Upgrading is Easy: Moving from Stage 1 to Stage 2 or beyond is seamless. Simply install the required hardware and use your POWERlink app to purchase the tune upgrade—you only pay the difference in tune cost with no extra fees!

Unlock the power of ethanol! E85 acts like rocket fuel for your daily driver and offers extreme saefty by running cooler than gasoline and offering high knock resistance. Though fuel consumption increases by up to 35%, E85’s lower cost per gallon compared to 104 race fuel balances out. Stage 1 supports E60-E85 ethanol blends.

Experience more power at higher RPMs with a raised engine speed limiter of 7000 RPM. You can also free-rev your engine in park or neutral with the limiter increased to 6750 RPM.

FULL POWER ON ANY TRANSMISSION

Factory transmission calibrations include torque limiters that reduce engine power when power limits are exceeded. The iE TCU Tune raises these limits, allowing your engine tune to deliver full power and torque. For models with locked TCUs or customers who don’t purchase the TCU tune, iE’s innovative ECU tune communicates torque from the ECU side, ensuring full horsepower and torque output without relying on a reduced power “Low Torque” file or tune.

VARIABLE LAUNCH CONTROL

Get ready for explosive launches with iE’s variable launch control. Choose between three launch RPM settings to dial in the perfect balance of grip and power for your vehicle’s setup. Each setting includes two RPM settings engaged by the throttle position:

  • Apply 100% throttle input without engaging the kickdown switch to launch from the minimal chosen RPM.

  • Engage full pedal pressure while activating the kickdown switch to launch with additional RPMs, delivering the most aggressive launch.

TUNE REGISTRATION
Once a tune purchase is applied to your vehicle's ECU or TCU, the tune is permanently registered to the vehicle and non-transferable to other vehicles. Tunes can be transferred to a second party in the event of vehicle transfer of ownership only.

Awesome, outstanding

The ease of installation is exactly what is advertised, ensure you use the correct battery tender/charger. I used a 10amp charger by ctek. Being that I’m in Australia I was skeptical about the support as different time zones. However the customer support is way above expectation as they get back to you asap. The loading of the tune was nerve wrecking but worked took abou 15 mins.

The car is faster you hear the turbo spool a lot more and louder. And I now feel the same torque a passenger normally feels when going WOT. As the gearbox is still locked. I find the torque converter does a grate job at not slipping the clutch. Perfect combination. My car ran 12.6 stock down the 1/4. And last visit it ran 12.1 With no additional mods other than the tune. The intake should hopefully get me down to high 11’s

Outstanding value

Stock performance of my stock 2024 MK8 Golf R with manual transmission was already good. Using the stage 1 tune for 93 octane fuel with no other changes makes a difference and most noticeable during zero to 60 launches. The car feels just right. I'm looking forward to installing the FDS intercooler and CAI (when available) for MK8 models.

Abosulutely amazing!!

Just tuned my 2024 MK8R with Stage 1 tune and holy smokes it feels like a completely different car. Acceleration and responsiveness are out of this world and it still feels so smooth. I am only running a 91 octane file and cant image how much faster it would be with E85 file. Will have to try it out at some point! Outside of the tune the customer service and support folks at IE are just the best. My ECU box was really new so they didnt have a file just yet but they turned it around and got one built within a few days!
