STAGE 1 — START HERE

Add up to +70 hp with nothing more than a Stage 1 ECU Tune, engineered to reprogram your stock engine for maximum gains on 91 or 93 octane. Pair with an intake for improved airflow and aggressive turbo sound. If your GTI has a DSG transmission, adding the iE DSG Tune unlocks full engine torque, enables the 7000 RPM limit, and transforms how the car shifts, accelerates, and delivers power for a complete drivetrain performance upgrade.

STAGE 2 — TURN IT UP

To safely maximize the stock turbo, you’ll need an intake, intercooler, and downpipe. With this hardware, reflashing to Stage 2 boosts power to 394 hp. Increased airflow and cooling keep power consistent while acceleration pulls harder across the powerband. Pair with a catback exhaust to fully enjoy adjustable crackles.

How do I install the iE tune on my MK7 GTI?

Installation is done at home using the iE POWERlink tuner and mobile app on iPhone or Android. No ECU removal. No shop visit. The app automatically identifies your ECU and walks you through the process step-by-step. Most customers are fully tuned in minutes.

Do I need to buy a separate DSG / TCU tune??

Yes, if your MK7 GTI is equipped with a DSG transmission and you want full performance. The factory DSG software limits torque to protect the clutches. Our iE DSG TCU tune increases clutch clamping pressure, improves shift behavior, and unlocks all high-torque engine tune files. Low-torque files are available for stock hardware setups, but full-torque performance requires the iE TCU tune.

Is iE tuning safe for a daily-driven MK7 GTI?

Yes. Our calibrations are engineered around smooth, controlled torque delivery rather than dangerous spikes. In addition, iE AutoProtect continuously monitors individual cylinders and actively intervenes if unsafe conditions are detected. Power is reduced automatically and restored once conditions stabilize.

Do I need to rebuy tunes when I upgrade parts?

No. POWERlink Suites are built to grow with your build. If you purchase Pro or Apex, all supported performance files are included. When you install new hardware, simply flash the appropriate file. No repurchasing. You have unlimited access to all files and features, including stock, in your purchased tier for life.

Do POWERlink™ adjustable features require extra hardware?

No. iE’s adjustable features are coded directly into the ECU. There are no external modules, pedal boxes, or add-on controllers required. All changes are made live through the POWERlink app and apply instantly.

Can I really switch from 93 octane to E85 without reflashing?

Yes. With the iE TrueFlex Module Hardware and iE HPFP upgrade installed (Pro or Apex Suites), your GTI engine computer is upgrade with true flex-fuel logic. The ECU reads ethanol content in real time and automatically adjusts boost, fueling, and ignition. No testing. No guessing. No reflashing. Fill up with anything from 91 octane to Full E85 and drive.

Will tuning hurt my fuel economy?

Our calibrations are optimized for performance, but many drivers report stock-like or even improved fuel economy during normal cruising. Increased efficiency in boost and ignition mapping can improve MPG when driving conservatively. Aggressive driving will always use more fuel.

the best tunning company

I would say they are amazing, but that would be an understatement. IE is great, they have great feature support and are one of those rare companies that still really care about their customers, like when they did the update for the tune and changed everything, they could have made old users buy again or given them the lowest level, but they did not they gave them the highest level with no additional fee. Speaking about their update its insane. Before, the pops sounded really good, but now they just sound like I opened the door to something that should be pushing way more power. They sound very aggressive. Within the first week of having the new pops, I turned on the highest level, and with cats, I got people saying it was like a gun, and I am all for it. I am definitely going to stick with them and hopefully soon run the gt2260s tune with them. Oh, P.S., they give stickers, unlike some other companies, COUGHarmCOUGH buy a whole FMIC, and all I get is a receipt, the stickers matter. Keep it up, IE

Should of done this years ago!

I'd been running a jb4 on my 2018 Gti essentially since I bought it new. Got tired of the stock ecu holding the car back, so I flashed it to stage 2 91 octane high torque IE pro tune and WOW! Car is a rocket now, Huge difference in power all across the board! Paired it with a Map catted downpipe , and IE Dsg tune for the win. I'm running 92 octane (highest available in my area) and the logs show timing is perfect, with 27.7 psi peak boost. I Love my "new car" and good bye to the JB4.
